Tune in to “YC Power Hour,” “State of Mind,” “Queer Justice,” “AHHSFF: AMOS” and “NIGHTCAP.”

Tuesday, November 13th State of Mind season 4 ep 1  (Youth Channel)

We’re kicking off our fourth season today with a two-part series entitled, ‘Welcome to the Human Race.’ Today’s topic is about Black Lives Matter. Since the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in 2013, Black Lives Matter has become a nationally recognized international activist movement, originating in the African-American community, campaigning against violence and systemic racism toward black people. BLM regularly organizes protests around the deaths of black people in killings by law enforcement officers, and broader issues of racial profiling, police brutality, and racial inequality in the United States criminal justice system.

 

Wednesday, November 14th Queer Justice ep 2 (Edu. Partnership)

Queer Justice Episode 1: highlights “How to be a Queer Ally?” and how one’s life is changed by either acceptance or rejection. We will be covering the various social epidemics LGBTQ individuals face as a result of dealing with rejection, cultural biases, homelessness, suicide, conversion therapy, discrimination, violence, and more. For our interview segment, we will be talking to Sergio Osoria, a Latinx, gay Dominican man who works as a Peer Recruiter at Project STAY.
