The school year is underway and we hope you’re having a great semester so far! We know life can get busy with homework, after school jobs and extracurriculars, so be sure take some down time once in a while.

When you think of the island of Puerto Rico, what comes to mind? Warm sand, beautiful people, tasty food or exotic locations. The bright and exciting culture or maybe even the amazing beaches and the clear water, but last summer Hurricane Maria struck, catapulting the island of Puerto Rico into a disaster. Devastating the people on the island and their families around the world. Hear what the local Puerto Rican community in El Barrio has to say about the tragedy.

NIGHTCAP

 

Nightcap has its first roundtable with gay rapper Archie Hollywood and transgender woman Tiffany Berutti, who discuss LGBT representation in television. Find out what they think about reality TV producer Mona Scott and the gay plot in “Love and Hip-Hop;” the double-standard between gay and heterosexual sex scenes on “Empire;” and the handling of the transgender role on “Orange is the New Black." The NIGHTCAP spotlight is on rapper Cruzer Santana performing his hit "Lifestyle."
