Girls Empowered: LGBTQI+

Episode 3 of Girls Empowered is dedicated to the topic of body image and how having a negative body image can lead to eating disorders. We will discuss the impact that media has on body image, how companies perpetuate unrealistic beauty standards, how women and teens are disproportionately targeted by them, what some companies are doing to combat this, and what people can do to maintain body positivity.

You are never too young to mind your money so on NIGHTCAP episode 8, guest Tischelle George gives some practical advice to teens and young adults about how to manage their money, open a bank account, create and stick to a spending plan, and build and use credit.

Tischelle is the founder of Mind Your Money, an organization that provides finance workshops in schools and libraries throughout New York. We end the show with songstress Lea Anderson, who you might have seen performing on the train.
