From tenants' rights to astrology to how to make Pop-Tart Sandwiches, if it matters to Manhattanites, then you’ll find it among MNN’s programming. That’s why, for today’s Clip of the Week, we bring you an important piece of civics-oriented footage you may have missed last week: the State of the Borough Address delivered by Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer on Thursday.

MNN set up shop at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the speech was delivered, to record every minute of Stringer’s assessments, avowals and promises. He talked about forthcoming efforts to bolster the middle class, and introduced the East River Blueway Project, a plan to beautify the East River waterfront, make it more accessible and protect it from storms like last year’s Hurricane Sandy. The project was hatched with the help of Manhattan Community Boards 3 and 6, the Lower East Side Ecology Center and dozens of community-based organizations.

Thursday’s event also featured performances by the String Quartet of the New York Youth Symphony Chamber of Music Program and the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus. Don’t miss it!
