"New Realities" Deepak Chopra

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

For today's Clip of the Week, we bring you a recent episode of ""New Realities," a show that explores the ways in which the world-- and our thinking about the world-- is changing.

In this segment, host Alan Steinfeld interviews famed author Deepak Chopra on his new book The Future of God: A Practical Approach To Spirituality For Our Times, which examines the concept of god in "the skeptical age." In today's world of constant terrorist threats, wars and natural disasters, is God still relevant? Chopra came down to MNN's studios to talk about the books, and the ways in which the concept of God may be redefined for the 21st Century.

Watch the clip below to hear Chopra explain Consciousness-- the worldview in the space between fundamental religious belief and hardcore scientific facts, or what Chopra refers to as “the non-local awareness of all beings.” The author has bold, compelling claims about anti-spiritual viewpoints (including those of people such as atheist scientist Richard Dawkins)-- that these people are really seekers who have been “bamboozled by the superstition of materialism.”

Fascinating. Enjoy!

Watch "New Realities" every Monday at 9:00 pm on MNN3 (TWC 1997, RCN 84, FiOS 35) and MNN.org. And check the show out on Facebook, Twitter and at newrealities.com.
