Happy Friday, all! For today's Clip of the Week, we'd like to turn your attention to a fun new episode of "From the Heart of the Barrios," a unique and inspiring series from the MNN El Barrio Firehouse Community Media Center.
In this segment, we hear from Janet Rodriguez, founder of SoHarlem, a community-based organization that "works to ensure that artists and residents benefit from local redevelopment efforts."
Watch the clip to find out how SoHarlem; Creative Outlet strengthens the community by supporting the women of Harlem, making and selling accessories through its brand. The org gives young people the opportunity "to assist artists in creating local public art installations and producing public art events that give our community access to distinguished creative leaders."
