Clip of the Week: “Community Board 8 Speaks”

Do you ever feel frustrated with the latest developments in your neighborhood? Think you can help find solutions to some of your community’s most pressing concerns? Then consider joining one of Manhattan’s twelve Community Boards.

Community Boards provide input and make decisions about neighborhood issues that impact you and your community, from real estate development to liquor licenses, and address other community concerns, from traffic problems to deteriorating housing. Boards also assess area needs and make critical recommendations in the City’s budget process. Community Board members are not only important advocates for their area, but also gain an understanding of the inner working of local government.

Curious? Watch our Clip of the Week from “Community Board 8 Speaks” as host Daniel Rosenstein interviews one of last year’s newest Community Board 8 members, Zoe Markowitz, a 16-year-old Honors student at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. Hear from Zoe about her experience as a Board member.
