Join the TV and Film Production Accounting Team:

The Production Accounting Training Program is here to help you access your potential in the television and film production industry. First, though, there are a few things you should know about the lifestyle of working in Production Accounting. (We talk more about this in detail at our regularly scheduled information sessions.) The Film and TV Production Accountant department is responsible for managing the financial aspects of a film or television production. This includes budgeting, tracking expenses, managing payroll, and ensuring that the production stays within budget. The department works closely with producers, directors, and other key personnel to ensure that the financial goals of the production are met.

Production Accountants can expect:
  • Long (10 to 12 hour+) days
  • Freelance work – working day-to-day and project-to-project
  • Pay rates of $18-$20/hr
  • Fast paced office setting
Skills needed to apply to the Training Program:
  • No CPA, or finance background needed
  • Good with numbers, analyzing, and organization
  • Familiar with TV and Film Production
  • Ability to work in a non-traditional office setting
  • Basic office skills, ie filing, emailing, answering phones
Eligibility:

Applying is a highly competitive process. The following are our core eligibility requirements:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Current New York City residents ONLY, living within one of the 5 boroughs of NYC and able to prove residency of at least 6 months
  • Underemployed, Unemployed, or low-income
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S
  • Available full-time and able to attend the four-week training program (Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm)
  • Available after graduation to work freelance, on-call 10/12+ hours per day in TV/film production
  • Able to make a 2-year commitment to working full-time in the TV and film production industry after graduating. Please do not apply if you are employed full-time, enrolled in school, or plan to enroll in school in the next two years.
How to apply:

Attend an information session online to learn more about the program and fill out an application. Info sessions are held over zoom.

Our next training cycle begins in February 24th. Those interested in applying to our training cycle must attend a virtual Info Session. The application form will be provided at the end of the Info Session presentation.
