This Week on MNN

… we’ll have MNN programming for every hour of every day,

to the last second of this ill-fated week.

Yup, we’ve got Shakespeare on the brain, having marked the quadricentennial of his death this weekend. Four hundred years later, and his plays and sonnets remain vibrant and brilliant, and shockingly relevant. So once you’re done rereading “MacBeth,” tune into MNN this week, for expressive genius a la 2016, with home buying advice on “The Carmen Lee Shue Real Estate Show,” (“My kingdom for a horse!”); office politics on “The Facts,” (“Something is rotten in the state of Denmark…”); music and photography on “GingerNewYork” (“If music be the food of love, play on”), and abundant laughs on “The Special Without Brett Davis” (“Merrily, merrily shall I live now”).

With over 25 years of experience in real estate, much of that in New York City, Carmen Lee Shue parlayed her successful lectures at the New York Public Library and other New York institutions into “The Carmen Lee Shue Real Estate Show.”  The show educates first-time home buyers on steps to successfully purchasing real estate, alongside industry secrets.

Tuesday, April 26, 11:30 pm

MNN2

Each episode of “The Facts” is either a music-story (using composed and improvised music and story), or a rehearsal for a music-story, or a discussion between scholars and experts.  Watch this week’s music-story about an intermingling of personal and office politics. Featuring Lenore von Stein, Andrew Bolotowsky, Beth Griffith, and Bern Nix.

A live weekly variety show like none you’ve ever seen before, “The Special Without Brett Davis” brings new, different, terrible hosts each week—none of them comedian Brett Davis, who died in the first episode. The show features special guests, bands, and the hottest names in NYC underground comedy. This week, The Thermals, Jo Firestone, and Sarah “Ultragrrrl” Lewitinn appear.

“GingerNewYork”

Friday, April 29, 2:00 pm

MNN1

It’s been a rocky year for music lovers, with the loss of so many industry icons. Art Dealer Loni Efron and Celebrity Photographer Chad Murray drop by “GingerNewYork” this week to discuss photography of music legends, including Prince, David Bowie, Elvis, Alicia Keys, Bob Marley, and Keith Richards.  In March 2016, Loni Efron’s Ilon Art Gallery opened its music exhibition featuring works from artists Albert Watson, Gered Menkowitz, Ken Regan, Don Hunstein, Harry Benson, William Claxton and others.
