Represent NYC: Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer Discusses Community Board Membership
Sunday, December 28th, MNN is pleased to present a new episode of "Represent NYC" hosted by Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer. Borough President Brewer will be joined by two guests to discuss the appointment process for 300 Community Board membership slots across the city.
Manhattan's 12 Community Boards are responsible for issues ranging from real estate development to liquor licenses. Members work on a volunteer basis, and anyone aged 16 or older who lives, works or goes to school may apply to represent their juristiction. The deadline for applying is January 30th, 2015.
For this discussion, Borough President Brewer will be joined by Nilsa Orama, member of Community Board 11; and Brian Benjamin, member for Community Board 10.
