vote

On June 22nd, there will be primary elections for city offices including Mayor, Public Advocate, Comptroller, Borough President, and City Council. The deadline for updating your party affiliation and registering to vote is this Sunday, February 14th.

Remember, you must be registered with a political party to vote in the NYC primary election! That means if you want to vote for candidates running in the Democratic, Republican, or other party primaries, you must be registered with that political party.

  • You are adjudged mentally incompetent by a court.

You can update your party affiliation by mailing in a new voter registration form to the NYC Board of Elections or dropping it off at your local Board of Election office.

If you have a New York State ID, you can update your registration online with the DMV. You can also use the voter registration form to update your address if you have recently moved.
