MNN Manhattan Public Access Left Forum Black Lives Matter
This week, MNN El Barrio Firehouse TV Presents "Outcomes for the 'Black Lives Matter' Movement and Progressive Empowerment – Insights of Black Women Activists," a panel from Left Forum 2015. The panel features Jim Vrettos from John Jay's Sociology Department, Carmen Perez, the Executive Director of The Gathering for Justice, Danny Aguilar of the Union Theological Seminary, Tamika Mallory, the Executive Director of National Action Network, Sabaah Jordan, and organizer and advocate and the Reverend Osagyefo Sekou, from the Fellowship of Reconciliation.
The panel covers local issues such as the NYPD's controversial "Broken Windows" policy, and explores the implications of the events in Ferguson, MO, voting rights, low-level drug laws and more. Tune in for both parts of this timely and relevant discussion on the Black Lives Matter Movement.
