YC Spotlight

Welcome back to "YC Spotlight," our weekly post that brings attention to the critical media produced by The Youth Channel at the MNN El Barrio Firehouse Community Media Center. Today we're shining the spotlight on "#BlackLivesMatter," a piece covering a rally held in Washington D.C. last month, when the family of Ramarley Graham, an 18-year-old boy who was shot and killed in his home by an NYPD officer in 2012, delivered 33,000 signed petitions to the Department of Justice.

The clip includes interviews with participants, including volunteers with the NAACP and Picture the Homeless, and speeches made during the rally, which intended to convince federal officials to launch a full investigation of Graham's case.

Watch and share.
