The last weekend of the summer means the celebration of the NYC Labor Day Parade also known as the West Indian Day Parade. It’s a colorful joyous NYC event that celebrates Caribbean pride and culture. Join us this week as we take a look at the culture and traditions of the Caribbean islands.

Globetrotter Jon Haggins travels the world exploring cultures, cuisine, traditions and people. In this episode Jon explores Kingston, Jamaica where he talks with Executive Chef Mark Dekrines about his authentic Jamaican dishes and much more. Join us for this special tribute to Jamaica.  

Sounds from El Barrio is the brainchild of MNN’s El Barrio Firehouse staff. It is a space for emerging artists from all over NYC to feature their work in MNN’s state of the art studios.
