This Week on MNN: MNN Originals

This week we highlight a few MNN Original programs that are produced in-house. The episodes we share with you this week will focus on the sights and sounds of NYC.

The Art Settlers of New York is a program that features everything related to art and culture in New York City. On this edition host Rafaela "Ronnie" Billini speaks with Cesarin Mateo, a Dominican American photographer whose pictures capture moments that evoke dialog. Cesarin’s work is currently being exhibited at the Luisa Capetillo Gallery at MNN’s El Barrio Firehouse Community Media Center.

Sounds from El Barrio is the brainchild of MNN’s El Barrio Firehouse staff. It is a space for emerging artists from all over NYC to feature their work in MNN’s state of the art studios. On this episode Firehouse staff invited singer/songwriter Frank Rhodes to perform his favorite songs from his debut album. Join us and enjoy the smooth sounds of this acoustic performance.

This summer marks the inaugural Festival of New York, a collaboration and celebration of the best this city has to offer. Join us This Week on MNN as we join forces with Shanta Thake, Lincoln Center’s Chief Artistic Officer and others to discuss all the free music, dance parties and special events that are taking place this summer. MNN is proud to be a media partner of Festival of New York so don’t miss out!

Watch This Week on MNN Sunday, July 17 at 1PM and Wednesday, July 20 at 7PM on MNN HD (Spectrum 1993).
