This Week On MNN: National Authors Day

The month of November brings us Thanksgiving, the harvest season and National Authors Month. With that in mind, our MNN Community Producers invite you to Meet The Author. Join us to meet graffiti artists, activists and life coaches. Let's get lost in a book together.

The Radical Imagination host Jim Vrettos is a Sociologist who has taught at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Yeshiva University. In this episode Jim talks to Ralph Wilson. Ralph is an activist, researcher and the Director of the Corporate Genome Project. Ralph is also the co-author of Free Speech and Koch Money, a meticulously documented and highly accessible field guide to the Koch network’s influence on college campuses.

Can We Talk is a show on MNN that aims to inspire, educate and empower women to be their best selves. In this episode host Denise Sutton invites three inspiring female authors to discuss their books about their struggles and accomplishments. The panel includes authors Teekwa Scarborough, Twanda Sparks and Tiara Soto.

Graffiti NYC has been airing on MNN for over 10 years. The host is graffiti legend James Top, who was a founding member of NYC's well known graffiti crew T.O.P. (The Odd Partners). In this episode James examines the origins of graffiti’s Black Book culture, a trend that became popular in the 70’s amongst NYC graffiti artists. Join us and learn how this trend became popular and check out some amazing art in the process.

Watch Sunday, November 7 at 1PM and again on Wednesday, November 10 at 7PM on MNN HD (Spectrum 1993).
