This Week on MNN: Back to School

As New York City school children prepare to return to school, join us This Week on MNN as we present some of the informative productions that our community producers have created that feature conversations about educational resources and an analysis of our education system.

The Hart of New York is a show that introduces New York City to guests who inspire and encourage viewers to reach for the stars. On this episode host Peter Hart talks with Maestro Joseph Lento, a celebrated educator of arts and humanities, about equality in education with an unbiased and factual analysis of the NYC education system.

Bronx Connections is a program produced by Bronxnet and hosted by Eliot Schiaparelli, reporter and anchor at WFUV News. In this episode we take a look back at 2020 and the uncertainties our students were facing. Also in this episode WFUV News Director George Bodarky is joined by Rachel Weinstein, founder of Operation Backpack to discuss how they provide grade-specific school supplies to students living in New York City homeless or domestic violence shelters in time for the first day of school, so they can enter the classroom feeling confident that they have the tools they need to succeed.

Pequenines TV is a bi-lingual series dedicated to parents and their young children. Host Lissarette Nisnevich is an early childhood professional who helps you understand your little ones by giving you tips on how to help with their development and nutrition.

Watch this Sunday, August 15 at 1pm and Wednesday, August 18 at 7pm on MNN 5 (Spectrum 1993).
