This Week on MNN: The Art of Storytelling

This Week on MNN introduces you to MNN community produced programming that inspires, educates and entertains. Our upcoming weekly theme is “The Art of Storytelling.” So curl up on your couch and get ready for a two hour programming block that will introduce you to our community and the wonderful programming they produce.

Lots of Stories is improv storytelling and earnest whimsy moments of quiet connection, and imagination. Join author Lese Dunton and host Talia Werber as they use a “fortune teller” to pick their storytelling genre. Then sit back and watch how they create fabulous off the cuff magical stories.

Poetry Thin Air has been on MNN for over 20 years. If you’re missing the old days of New York’s Lower Eastside where storytelling poured out of the pavement then join Calyton on a walk down Ludlow street as he shares stories of LES past.

Roundtable producer Mark Ungar invites former New York Times photographer Ángel Franco to the show. Mr. Franco tells amazing stories with his camera. He discusses his photographic process and takes a look at the progression of storytelling in today's modern age media.

MNN’s Documentary Storytelling Intensive is a class offered at MNN by our Media Education Program.  During the class our students work closely with MNN instructors to learn the art of storytelling through video. These short, student produced documentaries will take you on a storytelling journey from cooking for strangers to enduring the hardships of domestic violence.

Watch these terrific MNN programs beginning Sunday, November 29 at 1PM and again on Wednesday, December 2 at 7PM on MNN HD (Spectrum 1993).
