This Week on MNN: Jazz Appreciation Month

Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) was first introduced in 2001 by The Smithsonian Museum of American History to celebrate the culture, music, and heritage associated with jazz. April was selected because so many famous jazz musicians celebrated their birthdays during this month, including Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Herbie Hancock.
