This Week on MNN we celebrate National Black Business Month. Co-founded in 2004 by John William Templeton, BBM was created as an effort to expand the support and existence of Black-owned businesses across the nation. My Harlem Portraits aims to highlight the incredible work being done by African Americans in their communities and beyond. On this episode host Maria G. Cavenaghi talks with Sharene Wood, founder and CEO of Harlem Haberdashery, a boutique in the heart of Harlem that's built for fun fashion and philanthropy. Sharene’s goal is to create a space of community and inclusion. She works with emerging designers to create pop up shops, holds community events and much more.
