Eric Adams will take office on January 1, 2022 as the 110th Mayor of New York City.
After winning the 2021 election, Adams announced his expansive transition committee and, in mid-December, began filling out his government. Here is a running list of his appointments and nominations:
Lorraine Grillo, First Deputy Mayor
Anne Williams-Isom, Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services
Meera Joshi, Deputy Mayor for Operations
Maria Torres-Springer, Deputy Mayor for Economic and Workforce Development
Sheena Wright, Deputy Mayor for Strategic Initiatives
David Banks, Chancellor of New York City Public Schools
Keechant Sewell, Commissioner of the New York Police Department (NYPD)
Brendan R. McGuire, Chief Counsel to the Mayor and City Hall
Louis Molina, Commissioner of the Department of Correction
Jacques Jiha will continue to as Director of the Mayor's Office of Management and Budget
Preston Niblack, Commissioner of the Department of Finance
Matthew Fraser, Chief Technology Officer
Melanie La Rocca, Chief Efficiency Officer
Ydanis Rodriguez, Commissioner of the Department of Transportation
Aloysee Heredia Jarmoszuk will continue as Chair and CEO of the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission
"Dr. Dave A. Chokshi will continue to serve as Commissioner of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) through March 15 of 2022…Ashwin Vasan, M.D., PhD will then become DOHMH Commissioner in March and will serve as Senior Adviser for Public Health in the interim."
