Introducing MNN Online
We are pleased to see that our community is doing its part to make sure our city stays healthy and safe during this time of quarantine. We also understand how difficult it may be for some of our producers to not have full access to MNN’s facilities, education, and production support. Therefore, we are happy to announce MNN’s new Online Learning initiatives.
These initiatives will provide certified MNN producers with virtual support on media projects, learning opportunities to continue building your production skills, as well as informational sessions about MNN facilities and services. Here is what you can expect from MNN’s Online Learning Initiatives:
An online meeting space for non-certified and certified MNN producers seeking information, support, and feedback surrounding your MNN productions. These virtual meetings will be hosted by MNN team members from our education, production, and programming departments. Get support with questions you may have regarding your program airing on MNN, uploading your show to MNN from home, and even get one-on-one assistance on your editing, graphics, and other production projects. For producers familiar to our facilities, think of it as getting technical support at the Fishbowl or at the Media Education Labs at 59th St. and at the MNN El Barrio Firehouse. It’s our way of making our seasoned team available to you during this time of distancing.
Virtual MNN is open and available right now! You can join us every weekday anytime between 3 PM and 5 PM. Registration is required. Click HERE to register for Virtual MNN today!
MNN Online Info Session
While our doors may be closed, our online arms are wide open. We are excited to begin offering online Info Sessions to share MNN’s mission, facilities, services, and details on how you can become involved at MNN. After attending an Info Session, Manhattan residents and Manhattan-based non-profit community organizations can take classes and start producing a television program to cablecast on MNN’s channels. Non-Manhattan residents will learn about our professional education webinars and programming services so they can produce and air content on MNN. This is your first step to becoming an MNN Producer! Once our doors are open again, you'll be one step closer to utilizing our facilities.
MNN's first Info Session will be held online on April 13th from 1 PM - 2 PM and will run weekly in Spanish (Mondays) and in English (Tuesdays). Visit mnn.org/orientation to register for an upcoming MNN Info Session.
Free and Low-Cost Professional Webinars
MNN is offering a series of online workshops to help you build the skills you need to strengthen your production knowledge and practice. Our roster includes workshops that will provide producers with information on how to become a successful producer, introducing effective strategies for project development and production planning. All workshops will be mindful of how to create quality programming while sheltering in place.
MNN will begin offering skill-building and professional webinars starting on April 15th. For more details and for a full list of webinars being offered, please visit www.mnn.org/learn/workshops.
We’re very excited to provide these online learning opportunities to our community and to the folks that make MNN the creative and generative space it is. If you have any questions regarding MNN Online Learning Initiatives, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
