On August 11,1973 a young woman from the Bronx threw a back-to-school party at her apartment complex’s recreation center. Her older brother, known for his sound system, was the DJ at the party. The young woman was Cindy Campbell and her brother was Clive, better known as DJ Kool Herc. Hip Hop was born. Join us to celebrate this momentous occasion with old school concerts, interviews and much more.

Hosted by Video Music Box own Ralph McDaniels and Fever Records own Sal Abbatiello. Music by Grand Wizard Theodore, DJ Hollywood, and DJ Brucie Lee.


 

Bronx Week 2021: Walk of Fame Induction

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and The Bronx Tourism Council co-host the grand finale of Bronx Week 2021. The day’s events include an induction ceremony for this year’s Bronx Walk of Fame honorees on the Grand Concourse. The 2021 tourism award is presented to Woodlawn Cemetery. The 2021 Bronx Walk of Fame inductees include renowned Hip Hop Photographer and Activist Joe Conzo, Jr., Founder and CEO of Fever Records Sal Abbatiello and Grammy Award Winning DJ and Producer Kid Capri.

Different Voices One View is a talk show hosted by MNN Community Member Ameliaismore.  According to Ameliaismore, her talk show is a combination of Gil Noble and Charlie Rose with a female twist. In celebration of Hip Hop's 50th Anniversary Host & Producer Ameliaismore caught up with MC Sparky D one of the first female MC's from Brooklyn as she received her flowers with an art piece at the Universal Hip Hop Museum. Also, Ameliasmore goes deep with a conversation about the art of DJing with the original Spinderella
