In November 2018, New Yorkers elected new senators into office. Today, 40 Democrats and 22 Republicans hold a Senator position in New York State. A few months after the Democratic party took control back of the Senate, 92 bills have been signed into law, some including protection of gender identity or expression, women’s reproductive rights, voting rights and the DREAM Act.
