On the Next Represent NYC: Minority and Women-Owned Businesses with Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer

According to a recent report from The Black Institute, New York has seen an increase in the number of minority and women-owned businesses (MWBEs) — however, they remain vastly underfunded.

On the next episode of Represent NYC, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer explores how the city can help MBWEs get more business by obtaining city contracts. Joining BP Brewer are Bonnie Wong, founder and president of Asian Women in Business, (AWIB), a national non-profit organization based in Manhattan promoting the interests of Asian women entrepreneurs and professionals, and LaChena Clark, the owner of Sudsy Water Laundry and president of the Bradhurst Merchants Association.

Watch "Represent NYC" this Sunday at 7 pm and Wednesday at 9 pm on MNN1 (TWC 34 & 1995, RCN 82, FiOS 33) and MNN's new HD Community Channel (TWC 1993) or stream it live on mnn.org!
