Each episode of “The Facts” is either a music-story (using composed and improvised music and story), or a rehearsal for a music-story, or a discussion between scholars and experts. For the rest of June, “The Facts” examines racism and the situation of women.  This week’s episode is a music-story about the effects of war and racism. With Lenore Von Stein as narrator and singer, Beth Griffith as singer, Andrew Bolotowsky on flute, and Bern Nix on guitar.

The indefatigable Maria D. Romano joins Will on “Gotta Run with Will.” Christened the “Queen of Queens” for her ongoing work with disadvantaged youth and her founding of the Quick Silver Striders running club, Maria was the recipient of the prestigious New York Road Runners (NYRR) Joe Kleinerman Award, in honor of the NYRR founding member and beloved employee.

A replay of the second half of the two-part episode with famed St. John’s Basketball captain Billy Goodwin. Watch Billy, joined by Sammy Albano, as they discuss the legendary team under Coach Lou Carnesecca.

 

Originally from Harlem, Billy Goodwin led the St. John's men's basketball team to several victories, including the historic Big East Tournament win over Boston College that landed him the “Sports Illustrated” cover in 1983. A solid athlete and point guard at St. John’s, Goodwin was a third-round draft choice of the Milwaukee Bucks, and then played for the high ranking Nice (France) Professional Basketball Club.
