This Week on MNN

It's Labor Day, and for most of us, that means one less day for work, and one more day for watching your favorite shows on MNN. Tune in this week as “The Facts” continues its September series on love and economics; “Gotta Run with Will” speaks with Ivy Bell, who tackled her first half-marathon at 55 after helping her sister recover from a traumatic brain injury; and “GingerNewYork” previews the upcoming celebration of Susan Glaspell, mother of American drama.

“The Facts: Radio Gets Married, Part I”

Tuesday, September 8, 11:30 pm

MNN2

Each episode of “The Facts” is either a music-story (using composed and improvised music and story), or a rehearsal for a music-story, or a discussion between scholars and experts. Watch “The Facts” this September for its meditation on Love and Economics. Catch part two of the series this week, a music-story about a marriage by default.

Featuring Lenore Von Stein, Andrew Bolotowsky, Beth Griffith, and Bern Nix.

“Gotta Run with Will”

Thursday, September 10, 9:30 pm

MNN3

Ivy Bell was always fitness-minded, but never a runner. After her sister’s bicycle injury and traumatic brain injury, she answered the call to help her sister and gave herself a goal—to prep for a half. She soon discovered a latent talent for running, finishing second in her age group in her first half-marathon at the age of 55. Now a long-time member of Urban Athletics, Ivy continues to set and surpass her running goals, including qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
