In honor of Martin Luther King Day’s 2024 theme, It Starts With Me: Shifting the Cultural Climate Through The Study And Practice of Kingian Nonviolence, This Week on MNN is proud to highlight Community Leaders and Organizations that embody Kingian Nonviolence in their life’s work. Join us for this inspiring 4 hour block of programming.

I Love Harlem is a show produced by Mari Moss, a mom of three and Harlem community leader. On this special episode, Mari invites viewers to her 7th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration. The celebration, started by Mari Moss, Monique Meghie, Tameeka Benjamin, and teachers and staff at PS 175 Henry H. Garnet School for Success aims to pave the way forward to encourage students to excel in the legacy of Dr. King. Join this special group as they honor local Harlem heroes who are doing amazing things in the community.

My Harlem Portraits aims to highlight the incredible work being done by African Americans in their communities and beyond. On this episode host Maria G. Cavenaghi talks with singer, songwriter and community organizer Natu Camara. She is a vibrant West African artist whose heritage charged performance style and passion for activism and social justice has made her a unique presence in World Music. You don’t want to miss out on this inspiring conversation.

As the toll of devastation continues to rise in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with no apparent resolution in sight, and a lack of concrete plans for achieving lasting peace, The Radical Imagination host Jim Vrettos facilitates a crucial discussion with Avner Wishnitzer and Sulaiman Khatib, co-founders of Combatants for Peace. This group is comprosed of individuals from both sides of the conflict who have dedicated themselves to nonviolence and the pursuit of peaceful coexistence. Join us for this very important conversation.
