Join us This Week on MNN as we celebrate Juneteenth! Originating in Galveston, Texas, Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Since 1865 it has been celebrated annually on June 19 in various parts of the country. In 2021 President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law marking June 19 a Federal holiday. Join us This Week on MNN as we celebrate Black excellence.
