YC Spotlight: “Reproductive Rights in the Trump Era”

The current presidential administration is in the spotlight this week for actions that have less to do with their proposed and attempted policies, and more to do with the ongoing Russian investigation.  But lest the current headlines distract from other issues, the Youth Channel Spotlight presents a look at the state of reproductive rights under the current president.

Host Zion DeCoteau sits down with social justice attorney Elizabeth Hira, member of the Board of Directors of the New York Abortion Access Fund and adviser to the Center for Reproductive Rights, to discuss her involvement in human rights issues, the importance of getting beyond the pro-life and pro-choice dichotomy, the Mexico City Policy and Global Gag rule, Hyde Amendment, the potential impact of the appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme court,  and the real versus perceived impact of a president on reproductive rights.
