When you walk out into the streets or even into a classroom, you will most likely spot someone sporting some ink. USA Today reported that 38% of people ages 18 to 29 have at least one tattoo, and the number is on the rise with newer generations. Today, tattoos are known as a form of self expression and/or religious practice. If you are 18 years of age, you can legally walk into a parlor and decorate your skin with anything you want, but it can come at a cost–and it’s not only money. Despite the never ending body art trend, a majority of the country has no law protecting employees from being discriminated against, and you can potentially get fired. Join Youth Producers as they discuss the history of tattoos and the social stigma around them.
