Digital Media Coordinator

The Digital Media Coordinator is a hands-on member of MNN's technology team. The position has responsibility for maintaining and providing support with MNN’s core media technology services, including MNN’s suite of open source web sites and databases, web-based administrative applications and office hardware and software.

The Digital Media Coordinator provides guidance, training and support to MNN staff and community producers about MNN hardware and software matters, including MNN’s media management system. They will need an administrator's competency with Mac OSX and MNN's custom end-to-end media management system, Access Center (built with Drupal and CiviCRM). Access Center tracks all MNN activities from reservations to classes to playout on MNN’s digital cablecast system (Pebble Beach) and digital platforms. The position reports to the Digital Media Manager.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Ensure that MNN’s end-to-end media management system and suite of web-based database, inlcuding MNN.org, Access Center, NYXT.nyc, and the MNN reporting site are operational at all times. Respond quickly to reported problems and bugs; review enhancement requests; implement upgrades; coordinate as necessary with other departments or vendors, and take lead in troubleshooting related issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with staff and external vendors, contractors and developers.
  • Triage and answer staff and producer emails as necessary.
  • Available to work occasional non-standard hours and to be on-call for emergencies.
  • Be an intelligent problem solver and trouble shooter, know when you can fix something, or how to explain the issue to a dedicated developer.
  • Work with multiple teams, across multiple properties being friendly and attentive to all matters.
  • Ability to maintain and improve best practices and workflows, documenting these for other users. Deep understanding of interconnected applications and services.

Required Education and Experience

  • BA or equivalent in computer science, or related field.
  • Advanced familiarity/ competency with each of these apps from both a user and admin perspective: Adobe Creative Cloud, CiviCRM, Clubhouse, Drupal (7 & 8), Google Analytics, Google Suite, Google Tag Manager, FTP, Hubspot, iOS, JAMF, Mac OSX, Mailchimp, Mantis, Pebble Beach, QNAP, Slack, Social Sprout
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience with web site management, and/or on-line database management.
  • A minimum of 3+ years experience with Mac OSX based IT, Windows servers
  • Advanced CMS and CRM knowledge as a site maintainer, Drupal (7 & 8) and CiviCRM (5) experience strongly preferred.
  • Competency with issues trackers/ project management software
  • Available to work occasional non-standard hours and to be on-call for emergencies.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong operational knowledge of computer networks.
  • Demonstrated experience or skills in providing end-user support and technical advice and guidance to colleagues.

Other Job Requirements

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and other contemporary web development languages/ tools.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials and communications.
