This Week ON MNN: World Aids Day

Observed each year on December 1, World Aids Day is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV and remember those who have died from HIV related illnesses. Join MNN's community producers as they discuss young people and HIV, long term impacts of the disease and the hard work being done in our communities to fight against HIV/AIDS.

On this throwback episode of Gay USA, Andy Humm and Ann Northrop discuss the current state of HIV/AIDS in our community. Ann and Andy have put together a distinguished panel of guests that include Medical Director for the Mount Sinai institute for Advanced Medicine Antonio Urbina, Queer AIDS Activist Jason Walker, long term survivor and activist Ivy Arce, founding member of ACT UP NY and associate producer of Gay USA Bill Bahlman. Their discussion focuses on the long term impacts of HIV and the struggles that HIV patients still face today.

Out Loud, hosted by Anthony Parker, gives the New York City LGBTQ+ community a voice by showcasing the queer experience and highlighting the hard work done by community leaders and organizations. On this episode Anthony talks with Project Achieve’s Junior Faculty Member Dr. Jorge Soler to discuss vaccines in relation to HIV and Covid-19. Watch this informative conversation on MNN.

Open to Hope is a program hosted by mother and daughter duo Dr.’s Gloria and Heidi Horsley.  These amazing women are therapists who specialize in grief counseling and strive to help people find hope in their loss. On this episode our hosts talk with Doneley Maris, founder and executive director of HIV Arts Network. Join them to discuss diversity, the impact of HIV/AIDS on young people and much more.
