This Week on MNN: Arts & Humanities Continued

Launched by Americans for the Arts more than 30 years ago, National Arts and Humanities Month is a coast-to-coast collective recognition of the importance of Culture in America. Join us This Week on MNN for some very special programming.

For over 25 years Inside New York has brought viewers exclusive interviews and behind the scenes access to the best arts and culture that NYC has to offer. On this episode host Joan Allen invites theater icon and founding director of the New Federal Theater, Woody King, to talk about his legacy, New Federal’s 50th anniversary, and his 2021 honorary Tony Award.

ArtTour International aims to introduce art as a human interest story. Join host Viviana Puello as she talks with Master Artist Ric Conn. Ric's artistic inspiration comes from “social issues, equality, empowerment and psychological conditions.” He wants the viewer to feel something when viewing his work and hopes to increase awareness and understanding. Watch this inspiring conversation on MNN.

The Artist Forum host Rebecca L. Hargrove invites a panel from City College (CUNY) to talk about their latest program, the Interactive Poetry Workshop. Panelists include Program Director Stephanie N. Penceal, Poet/educator JP Howard and Writer Keisha-Gaye Anderson. Also, viewers will enjoy performances by workshop students Angela Lockhart Aronoff, Deborah Davis, Sonia Jaffe Robbins and Yolanda Rayside.

Pathways to the Dream Lodge Cafe, hosted by Candece Tarpley, is a program that highlights Native American arts and culture. On this episode Candece is joined by actor Sonny Moreno, Film and TV star Marcella Lowery and actor/producer Ingrid Saxon. These extraordinary women get together to discuss their legacies and the state of the industry today.
