MNN On-Site Services Opening May 3

We are pleased to announce that MNN will begin a limited and phased reopening of our studio and edit facilities at our 59th Street and El Barrio Firehouse Community Media Centers beginning May 3, 2021.

 

Producers can now make online reservations for the studios, edit stations and field equipment that will be available for community use.
 

During this phase of MNN’s reopening, we will act with deliberate caution to ensure the health and safety of our staff and community. As such, our reopening will be limited and measured. Please respect the rules we put in place for this first phase of reopening as the health of our staff and community is our number one priority. All production activities are in accordance with and advised by the New York State Department of Health’s “Interim Guidance for Media Production During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency,” dated June 23, 2020, and available on the NY Governor's website (PDF). 
 
59th Street Studio and Edit Stations

MNN’s 59th Street Community Media Center will be open Monday to Friday from 1:00pm-7:00pm.
A limited number of edit stations and the large Open Studio will be available for two reservations per day. MNN will be taking Online Reservations only for studios and edit stations. 

Firehouse Studio and Edit Stations
 
MNN’s El Barrio Firehouse Community Media Center will be open Tuesday to Friday from 1:00pm-7:00pm and on Saturdays from 11:00am-5:00pm. A limited number of edit stations and the George Stoney studio will be available for two reservations per day. MNN will be taking Online Reservations only for studios and edit stations.
 

Field Equipment can be reserved online or via phone.
 

For 59th Street, phone reservations can be made Mon-Fri between the hours of 1:00pm-6:30pm at ext. 309 and 314.

For El Barrio Firehouse, phone reservations can be made from Tue-Fri from 1:00pm-6:30pm and on Saturdays from 11pm-5pm at ext. 200.

MNN producers should email production@mnn.org to reserve a time to upload a program.
 
MNN Media Education

MNN continues to offer our outstanding Media Education classes online and you can view them HERE. We hope to resume in-person education services this summer. To be notified when new classes are available (online & in-person), click HERE.
 
Reopening Info Session

Reopening our studios, classes and post-production facilities will be a process -- phased, measured and limited. Your patience and dedication to our safety procedures is appreciated.

As we move forward, MNN will review our progress to determine how we continue to operate safely after our initial opening. 
 
We look forward to seeing you once again at MNN. We will be closely monitoring New York City’s health guidelines and recommendations as we implement MNN’s reopening plan. We sincerely hope that we can continue to provide a version of our traditional production services so you can create your programs for MNN channels once again.
