Half a century after the gay liberation movement there is still a long way to go Today, the LGBTQ+ community not only remains fighting for 100% of their human rights, but live in fear of their life being cut short. The Human Rights Campaign reported that in 2018, at least 26 deaths of transgender people were recorded in the United States alone–majority of whom were Black. This year, almost a dozen trans people were murdered.
