"Peer training is like, "This is something I learned and it's really cool. And I know you want to learn this, too - so I'm teaching it to you." -Veridiana, 21 years old
We think that learning should be fun. Don't you?
Our Peer Training model allows young adults to become trainers who can, in turn, share their media skills with their peers. Participants in the Peer Training program will have the opportunity to facilitate Media Literacy workshops, practice dubbing and editing, and contribute to the YC Peer Training blog, among other activities. We believe that having young people teach their community about media literacy and TV production empowers their peers to find their own voice, while providing them with the skills they need to share their message with the world.
Commitment:
Peer Trainers must commit to attending trainings and program meetings throughout their employment. Though we provide Peer Trainers with a flexible schedule, you must be available during after-school hours.
