From the Upper West Side to East Village and everywhere in between, Manhattan is known for its diverse and distinctive neighborhoods. However, not many people get to fully experience each one.
In an all-new, original documentary "Perspectives of El Barrio,” MNN’s Fall 2016 Youth Media Center interns will take you on a journey through one of the most culturally rich neighborhoods in the borough: El Barrio.
Also known as Spanish Harlem, this tight-knit community is home to both newcomers looking for an affordable place to live and families who established their roots many years ago. In this short film, you’ll see El Barrio through the eyes of its residents and learn about the history, places and challenges that make the neighborhood what it is today.
"Perspectives of El Barrio" airs on Wednesday, January 18 at 6pm on MNN 4 (FiOS 36, RCN 85, TWC 67 & 1998) or streaming live on mnn.org.
