After you have created your show and submitted it for air, it's time to promote it. There are two main avenues for promoting your show: on-air and online.
On-Air Promo Guidelines
If you have a regularly scheduled series, please submit a promo to MNN by following the directions below and adhering to our technical requirements.
1 Make a promo
The promo has to be either 30 seconds, or 60 seconds in length
2 Make sure your promo has the right stuff
The promo must contain the name of your show, the channel(s) it comes on, and the time it comes on. Feel free to include websites, twitter Facebook pages or e-mail addresses.
3 Put your promo on the right tape
The promo can be handed in on DVD-R (prefer), or mini DV. No black or colors bars needs to be on the DVD, just start the promo. Please take note that no DVD, or mini DV will be returned to you so please do NOT hand in your master copy.
4 Double check that there is no adult material
The promo can not contain any adult material. Please refer to our Programming Policies to see what is considered adult material.
5 Submit your promo
You can hand in your promo to the library, or the promotion coordinator whose office is located on the second floor at Room #205.
6 Triple check that you are allowed to have a promo
You must have a show in order to have a promo on MNN. No PSAs or event promos will be accepted. If you have a special (aka single) you cannot submit a promo on MNN.
Promote Your Show on YouTube, BlipTV & Vimeo
1 Upload your content to YouTube, BlipTV or Vimeo
2 Tag your videos
Tag your videos "MNNNYC" and "MNNTV" and your videos will be automatically posted on our site.
3 Don't add unnecessary tags
On several sites (i.e., youtube, blip.tv, or vimeo), you only need to tag one of the videos. For instance if you put the same video on all three sites, only tag One of the videos, or else three of the same videos will show up on the MNN web page.
