According to a United States Census Bureau report, only 41% of young adults (18-29) voted in the 2012 presidential election. With another election on the way later this year, it’s essential that young voters feel like their voices matter.
In the premiere episode of Food for Thought, host Gisselly Balcacer, talks with Carmen De La Rosa, Chief of the Staff for New York City Council District 10, about the importance of young people exercising their right to vote.
Food for Thought is an original series by Youth Channel producer, Jessica Cruz-Gharnit, with assistance from Maria Isabel Parada and Roxy Kotskovych. The show will feature interviews with community members and cover topics such as education, health, technology and much more.
