Featured Filler by George C. Stoney: The Shepherd Of The Night Flock (1975)

By Manhattan Neighborhood Network

Shepherd of the Night Flock is a black and white documentary about a jazz ministry at St. Peters Lutheran Church at 54th and Lexington Avenue which was led by Father John Garcia Gensel.  Gensel had started the Jazz Vespers for those musicians of his growing night ministry who couldn't make it to Sunday morning service after playing late Saturday night gigs.  It became the church home for many musicians including Zoot Sims, Billy Strayhorn, Billy Taylor and the legendary Duke Ellington, who called Pastor Gensel "the shepherd who watches over the flock."  This amazing documentary will be featured on MNN 1,   Saturday, November 27 at 8:30PM.  For future times and channels check the daily schedule

Chuck's Picks

By Manhattan Neighborhood Network

"Pancakes" is a one-woman foray into the late-night public access abyss. Part tortured visual imagery (doll porn, impaled television sets), part rant (feminist diatribes, reality TV critiques) and all weirdness. Her sole inspiration, she has said, was "Roboshithead" (now THERE was a crummy show). Tune in every Thursday late night at 12:30 AM on MNN2 and see what all the fuss is about.

MNN would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the Bailey Family.  Juanita Bailey was the host of MNN's very first regular series program Dynamic Disciples, PROJECT ID #1.  Dynamic Disciples airs every Friday at noon on MNN3.  Mrs. Bailey was a dedicated MNN producer for over 20 years and her wishes were to keep the show going!  Thank you for your work Juanita!
