Empowering Communities through Public Access TV & Community Media
MNN's Community Outreach and Media Services Department provides services to community-based non-profit organizations—such as community, cultural, arts, labor or social justice organizations. By making their own media these community groups increase their outreach, create community dialogue, and promote social justice or local cultural expressions. MNN’s mission is to foster a media literate society, and to build a media infrastructure to serve the needs of all Manhattan’s residents.
Brief Description of Community Outreach and Media Services
Offered to Non-Profit Organizations in Manhattan:

Media Planning & Consultation— Our staff will meet with you to discuss how you can use local television to serve your community and advance your organization’s mission.

Free Training—We will train your members to make TV programming to stay in touch with your existing audience or reach a broader public.

Community Media Grant Program [0]—On a semi-annual basis, we offer small renewable grants to support the purchase of video equipment and training for your staff and members.

Facilitated Productions—In certain circumstances we will provide your organization with a video crew; all you have to do bring is your ideas and we will provide all the staff and skills needed to turn your ideas into high quality television programs.
