Race to Represent: NYC Council District 9 Candidates Fight for the Last Seat

With former Councilwoman Inez Dickens off to the state assembly, City Council District 9 is now looking for someone to take her place in representing the people of Harlem and Morningside Heights.

Residents of the district will be casting their vote in a special election on February 14, but first The League of Women Voters of the City of New York (LWVNYC)The Amsterdam News and Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) are teaming up to broadcast a debate between the candidates who are vying for the seat.

Watch now to to hear the following candidates explain how they would address neighborhood issues such as affordable housing, education, transportation, economic development and more.
